CJPaws, Inc.'s Inspiration
The inspiration for CJPAWS developed from a little kitten named Zoe. Zoe was one of many kittens CJPAWS’ founder Bronwyn Stanford had fostered through the years. Zoe was found on the streets of Miami with her sister and they were both very compromised. They had found their way to Miami-Dade Animal Services and then into the arms of CJPAWS founder and CEO, Bronwyn Stanford, who took them home that day to foster.
Zoe’s sister thrived but little Zoe had fluid in her thorax and after a 6-week fight and much medical care, she passed. Zoe was special from the first day I looked into her eyes and I knew she would be a failed foster. In her short life, she had such an impact on me and I was inspired to make a larger impact for all of the helpless kittens,

cats and dogs out there who have so much love to give but due to no fault of their own end up abandoned, neglected and abused. Fostering has been an important part of my life and has made a difference for many animals. Zoe inspired me to do something larger so that far more animals can be impacted. So while little Zoe did not make it… her spirit lives on in the birth of CJPAWS.

Helping Our Community
CJPaws, Inc. is committed to helping animals in our community, whether they have been abandoned by their previous owners and are living as strays on the streets, or their owners can no longer care for them and need to surrender them. We mainly focus on cats but sometimes have room in our foster homes for dogs as well. Small animals that are in need can also find their homes through CJPaws. We partner with local businesses to help bring new customers to their shops by setting up adoption events and drawing in clients that may not have otherwise visited. CJPaws is dedicated to helping small businesses grow and thrive in this changing economy.
We also partner with corporate entities such as Petsmart to help find our pets loving, forever homes within our communties. Donations given to our local Petsmart in Lighthouse Crossing directly benefit CJPaws and we use them for our foster cats and dogs. If you know of a local business (it doesn't have to be a pet store, any local business is welcome!) that is interested in partnering with CJPaws, please contact us regarding it! We would love to help drive business and sales by directing our adopters to those locations, in exchange for allowing us to leave business cards and occasional flyers for distrobution.
Our Team
Our team is composed entirely of women who work full time, have families, and take care of pets of their own. Their dedication to animals and their desire to save lives drives them each and every day to carry on with CJPaws' rescue efforts, despite the daily challenges and demands of their personal and professional lives.

At the age of 5 my parents got me my first pet Moody, a beautiful pound puppy, and then after watching Disney’s Cinderella singing to the birds, it was determined I would be surrounded by animals for the rest of my life. Of course, fostering and working with CJPaws is a joy and opportunity to be able to provide safe haven to animals in times of stress and find them forever homes. Patience, learning to listen to other sentient beings, and being of service is my joy.

The beauty of animals, our companions on earth, adds greatly to all of our lives. People are enriched by a beloved pet. My love for animals started as a child with the help of my father and continues to this day. We always had pets and were taught at a young age to treat them with respect. Loyalty, compassion and friendship are part of what a wonderful pet can become as a member of the family. Pets accept us for who we are and their love is unconditional. Working to save pets from unpleasant situations or re-homing a furry family member because of a death in the family or health issue is part of making a greater difference.
